BJJ Training
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in Newquay
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is probably one of the fastest growing Martial arts in Newquay. Nick Tiscoe, 2nd degree BJJ Black Belt under Kev Capel, is head coach at North Shore BJJ. Nick has competitive experience at every belt level.
We have classes for beginners only, women only, mixed level, advanced and free sparring with an emphasis on BJJ for sport as well as self defence. All students will be graded according to IBJJF guidelines for belt promotion.
Students actively develop their technique to play the game of BJJ in a fun and friendly setting. We also believe students will develop their ability through grappling to attain a high level of self defence.
Beginners
Everyone had to start somewhere, after all a black belt is a white belt that never gave up!
We welcome anyone to give BJJ a go and we will do our very best to help you develop and become the best version of yourself. We cannot promise that it will be easy, and there may be times you question yourself, however the longer things take to develop and achieve the longer they stay with you. All we ask is for you to give 100%, ask questions and show up to class. We believe BJJ can be a force for good.
BJJ is an excellent form of self-defence due to the grappling nature and close contact. BJJ can also help you lose weight, become fitter, move better, combat stress and anxiety and improve self confidence.
